Volleyball Game Preview: Hot Springs County Bobcats vs. Powell Panthers

Hot Springs County is 1-7 against Powell since August of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Bobcats will venture away from home to square off against the Panthers at 1:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Hot Springs County is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since August 29th on Friday. They came up short against Rocky Mountain, falling 3-0.

Hot Springs County took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-19, 28-26.

Meanwhile, Powell faced Lovell in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Panthers fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2.

Powell wouldn't go down easily and took Lovell into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking 13-point loss. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-15, 19-25, 25-10, 15-2.

Powell's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8-1. As for Hot Springs County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Hot Springs County suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Powell when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
