Softball Game Preview: Charleroi Cougars vs. Ringgold Rams

The Charleroi Cougars will take on the Ringgold Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Charleroi will be strutting in after a win while Ringgold will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with eight losses in a row, Charleroi turned things around against East Allegheny on Wednesday. They blew past the Wild Cats 17-4. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Ringgold came up short against Uniontown on Friday and fell 7-4. The Rams have struggled against the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Charleroi's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-8. As for Ringgold, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.

Charleroi got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March of 2025 against Ringgold by a conclusive 14-8 score. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
