Basketball Recap: Brenham Comes Up Short

Brenham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Huntsville Hornets, falling 60-35. While losing is never fun, the Cubs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 632nd, while the Hornets are ranked 221st).

When it comes to explaining why Brenham lost, don't look at Antyianna Lang. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 12 on her way to 14 points and eight boards.

Brenham's defeat dropped their record down to 11-18. As for Huntsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season.

Brenham will challenge A&M Consolidated at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. A&M Consolidated will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Brenham surely won't give up without a fight. As for Huntsville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Montgomery at 6:15 p.m. Huntsville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
