Basketball Recap: Giltner Hornets vs. McCool Junction Mustangs

Giltner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 75-21 loss at the hands of the McCool Junction Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Mustangs are ranked 74th).

Brody Cummings was Giltner's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Blaydon White took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

McCool Junction was led to victory by Carson Mcdonald and Ja Soukup. Mcdonald almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds, while Soukup dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 boards. Those 18 points gave Soukup a new career-high.
