The Whitley County Colonels got the win against the Prestonsburg Blackcats  on Saturday by a conclusive  13-2. The result was nothing new for the Colonels, who have now won seven matchups by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Clint Partin looked comfortable as he  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   four  hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  RJ Osborne and  Spencer Bargo did most of the damage at the plate:  Osborne  went 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases, two  RBI,  and one  run, while  Bargo  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  stolen bases and two  runs. Those  two  stolen bases gave  Osborne a new career-high.  Henry Bowling was another key player,  going 1-for-4 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 Whitley County  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in seven consecutive  contests.
Whitley County has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Prestonsburg,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 6-11.
 Coming up, Whitley County will host South Laurel  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Colonels are on  a  three-game streak of home wins, the Cardinals  a  four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. As for Prestonsburg, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Wolfe County  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
