Newton's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Effingham, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Newton will take on Charleston at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Effingham, they will challenge St. Thomas More at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
