Baseball Recap: Rice Lake Comes Up Short

Rice Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 19-7 to the Ashland Oredockers. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Oredockers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Tanner Koltunski made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Musil, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI.

Rice Lake's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ashland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Rice Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ashland, they will head out to face off against Spooner at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rails will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Oredockers surely won't give up without a fight.
