Baseball Recap: Mount Dora Comes Up Short

Mount Dora and Bishop Moore squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Mount Dora had to settle for second. They came up short against the Hornets, falling 15-5. The loss continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost six in a row.

Preston Rhodes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan McLain, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Mount Dora's defeat dropped their record down to 20-10. As for Bishop Moore, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 23-7.

While Mount Dora had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
