Basketball Recap: Evanston Gets the Win

Evanston had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Star Valley Braves on Thursday, sneaking past 39-36. This was payback for the Devils, who suffered a 46-20 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Star Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Emily Dana and Kambree Johnson. Dana almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards, while Johnson posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave Johnson a new career-high.

Evanston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-24 loss against East on the 13th. As for Star Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 53-19 defeat against Central on the 13th.
