Basketball Recap: St. Petersburg Catholic Triumphs

St. Petersburg Catholic posted their closest win since November 21, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 victory over the Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-56 back in November of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Saint Stephen's Episcopal saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aymon Colten almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Ava Rogers, who posted three points.

The win got St. Petersburg Catholic back to even at 5-5. As for Saint Stephen's Episcopal, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

St. Petersburg Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 80-37 loss against Shorecrest Prep on the 3rd. As for Saint Stephen's Episcopal, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-39 victory against Canterbury on the 3rd.
