Volleyball Recap: Struthers Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Gianna Martin and Trynyty Nail

Struthers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Hubbard Eagles, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in August.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-20, 25-15.

Struthers' loss came despite strong showings from Trynyty Nail and Gianna Martin. Nail had 32 digs and two aces, while Martin had eight blocks and seven kills. Martin has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last eight times she's played.

Hubbard was led to victory by Emma TEtrick and Sarah Brand. TeTrick had 15 digs and four aces, while Brand had five aces. That's the most aces TeTrick has posted over her last five games.

Struthers' defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Hubbard, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Struthers didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against East on the 17th. Hubbard has also already played their next contest (against McKinley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
