Softball Game Preview: Porter Ridge Pirates vs. Lee Park Prep Knights

The Porter Ridge Pirates will challenge the Lee Park Prep Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Porter Ridge blew Sun Valley out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Sun Valley got their revenge. The Pirates fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Pirates have suffered since April 24, 2024.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lee Park Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over Gaston Christian on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Ansley Green spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits. She also tossed five walks, marking her first of the season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nevaeh Alexander, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two triples. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Peyton Conway was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

Lee Park Prep now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Porter Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
