Baseball Game Preview: Perry-Lecompton Kaws vs. Riley County Falcons

The Perry-Lecompton Kaws will head out to face off against the Riley County Falcons on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Perry-Lecompton and eight for Riley County.

Jefferson West hit Perry-Lecompton with a four-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Kaws came up short against the Tigers, falling 8-2.

Kaleb Confer was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Thomas Marcellino, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Riley County took on Sabetha on Thursday. The Falcons fell just short of the Bluejays by a score of 6-4.

Riley County's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Perry-Lecompton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12-1.

Perry-Lecompton might still be hurting after the 20-6 loss they got from Riley County when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Kaws avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
