Tom Bean and Honey Grove are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Tomcats are taking a road trip to take on the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Tom Bean is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 13 games.
Tom Bean came out on top against Savoy on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 19-run first inning. The Tomcats' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 20-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Tomcats, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Dyson Farris made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Tom Bean got a massive performance out of Donnie Hooten, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI Hooten has posted since back in February of 2025. Grayson Pribble also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Tom Bean always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .571 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Honey Grove had just enough and edged out Tioga 6-5 on Tuesday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Jarrmez Daniels, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Carson Reese was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Tom Bean's record now sits at 14-1. As for Honey Grove, their record is now 12-4.
Tom Bean couldn't quite finish off Honey Grove when the teams last played back in April of 2025 and fell 6-4. Can the Tomcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
