Basketball Recap: Idalia Comes Up Short

Idalia lost against Arickaree back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The contest between the Idalia Wolves and the Arickaree Bison didn't end well, with the Idalia Wolves falling 50-32.

Despite the defeat, Idalia saw an underclassman step up: freshman Broderick Kite went 5-for-11 on his way to 13 points. The dominant performance also gave Kite a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%). Kolby Morris was another key player, putting up nine points.

Arickaree's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jake King, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. King is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Austin Wright, who shot 56% from the field en route to 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Idalia has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. Arickaree has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Idalia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-37 victory against Prairie on the 1st. As for Arickaree, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 59-38 loss against Otis on the 1st.
