Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kymorie Clark and Kamryn Jackson Lead Victoria East to Victory

Victoria East posted their biggest win since December 5, 2024 on Friday. Everything went their way against the Fort Bend Kempner Cougars as the Victoria East Titans made off with a 54-34 victory. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 504th, while the Cougars are ranked 1268th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Victoria East was led to victory by Kamryn Jackson and Kymorie Clark. Jackson dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards, while Clark dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most boards Jackson has posted since back in November of 2024. Avery Valentine was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to seven assists and seven rebounds.

Meghan Lausser and Nia McWilliams certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Lausser went 6 of 12 on her way to 19 points, while McWilliams posted eight points and seven boards.

Victoria East has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. As for Fort Bend Kempner, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.

Victoria East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-47 loss against Randle on the 14th. As for Fort Bend Kempner, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-18 defeat against Victoria West on the 14th.
