Cambridge Christian has gone a perfect 8-0 against Sarasota Christian recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cambridge Christian Lancers will head out on the road to challenge the Sarasota Christian Blazers at 6:00 p.m.
Last Tuesday, Cambridge Christian didn't have quite enough to beat IMG Academy White and fell 6-5.
Cambridge Christian got a good showing from Trigg Listerman, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Furthermore, Listerman didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Brody Bellomo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luca Gonzalez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sarasota Christian). Everything went their way against Gulf Coast HEAT on Thursday as Sarasota Christian made off with an 18-2 victory. The Blazers have beaten Gulf Coast HEAT the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Gulf Coast HEAT has come to flipping the script.
Randall Collins was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Will Papineau also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Sarasota Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Cambridge Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. Sarasota Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Everything went Cambridge Christian's way against Sarasota Christian in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Cambridge Christian made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cambridge Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
