Softball Recap: DeSmet Takes a Loss

DeSmet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Chester Flyers, falling 29-1.

DeSmet's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Chester, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DeSmet will host Florence/Henry at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Chester, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Alcester-Hudson at 4:00 p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Flyers have won ten straight at home dating back to last season, while the Cubs won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
