Softball Game Preview: Capital Bruins vs. Big Sky Eagles

The Capital Bruins will square off against the Big Sky Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Capital has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Capital fell victim to Glacier and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 17-0 to the Wolfpack. The Bruins' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Big Sky got the win against Hellgate on Thursday by a conclusive 13-2. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Sadie McGuinn, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Bykari, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Big Sky was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hellgate only posted a batting average of .235.

Big Sky's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Capital, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
