Basketball Game Preview: Superior Central Cougars vs. Munising Mustangs

Superior Central is 2-8 against Munising since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Superior Central Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Munising Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Superior Central is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They lost to Bark River-Harris at home by a 41-22 margin.

Munising has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-53 heartbreaker at the hands of Marquette. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mustangs came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Redmen are ranked 303rd).

Munising's loss dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Superior Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Superior Central suffered a grim 43-23 defeat to Munising in their previous matchup back in January. Can Superior Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
