Baseball Game Preview: Walsingham Academy Trojans vs. Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins

The Walsingham Academy Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Walsingham Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Cape Henry Collegiate's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Walsingham Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Christchurch School on Monday. Walsingham Academy blew past Christchurch School 8-2. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Seahorses recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Jimmy Kokolis` looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Andrew Cole was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Daniel Guntherberg was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Walsingham Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christchurch School only posted a batting average of .050.

Meanwhile, Cape Henry Collegiate fell victim to St. Ignatius and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.

Cape Henry Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Walsingham Academy, the win got them back to even at 5-5-1.

Walsingham Academy took their victory against Cape Henry Collegiate in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0. Will Walsingham Academy repeat their success, or does Cape Henry Collegiate has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
