Basketball Recap: Central Florida Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Central Florida Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 68-52 fall against the Ocoee Knights. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Ocoee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayla Weiser led the charge by putting up 21 points along with six assists and five steals. Weiser continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Fortius, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Central Florida Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Ocoee, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Florida Christian Academy will host Lake Mary at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ocoee, they will welcome Colonial at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
