Soccer Recap: South Columbus Has No Trouble Against East Columbus

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Columbus). Everything went their way against the East Columbus Gators on Tuesday as South Columbus made off with a 5-1 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

South Columbus hit East Columbus with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brianna Price (2), Karys Townsend (2), and Janaya Frinks.

The win was the third in a row for South Columbus, bringing their record up to 3-4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three matchups. As for East Columbus, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, South Columbus will head out on the road to square off against Red Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Columbus, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against South Columbus at 5:00 p.m.
