Baseball Game Preview: Lexington Minutemen vs. Henry-Senachwine Mallards

Lexington is 0-3 against Henry-Senachwine since March of 2022 but things could change on Wednesday. The Minutemen will face off against the Mallards at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lexington's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against Dwight by a score of 5-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Minutemen.

The result came thanks to Braeden Barber's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kayden Knight was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Drake Powell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Henry-Senachwine extended their postseason success on Saturday against Putnam County. They skirted past the Panthers 1-0.

Lexington's record is now 16-11. As for Henry-Senachwine, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-17 record this season.
