Softball Preview: Olmsted Owls vs. Da Vinci Dragons

Olmsted is 10-0 against Da Vinci since May of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Olmsted Owls have the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome the Da Vinci Dragons at 4:30 p.m. One thing working in Olmsted's favor is that they have posted big run totals every time they've taken the field this season.

Last Thursday, Olmsted was able to grind out a solid victory over Hutchinson-Central Tech, taking the game 14-11.

Riley Blake and Abayomi McCray did most of the damage at the plate: Blake went 1-for-2 with a home run, two runs, and a stolen base, while McCray scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Blake is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stolen at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Julia Jordan, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Da Vinci had to start their season on the road two weeks ago, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 24-2 to Olmsted.

Olmsted now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Da Vinci, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
