Softball Recap: New Fairfield Rebels vs. Immaculate Mustangs
New Fairfield lost against Immaculate back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Rebels came up short against the Mustangs, falling 11-2. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lindsey Briggs was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Roldan, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.
New Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Immaculate, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
New Fairfield will look to defend their home field on Sunday against New Milford at 1:00 p.m. The Green Wave's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Rebels' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Immaculate, they will head out on the road to face off against Bethel at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
