Red Bay and Sulligent are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. Red Bay will be playing in front of their home fans against Sulligent at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Red Bay has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 22.

Red Bay came up short against Belgreen last Tuesday, falling 13-2.

Meanwhile, while Sulligent put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Lamar County. Sulligent was the clear victor by a 13-0 margin over Lamar County. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Blue Devils this season.

Kallie Taylor made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie Lann, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in triples (two). Another player making a difference was Ella Wheeler, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Sulligent is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. Red Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Red Bay beat Sulligent 7-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2022. Will Red Bay repeat their success, or does Sulligent has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
