Preview: Davenport Central vs. North Scott
On Friday, Davenport Central are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against North Scott at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Davenport Central, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Davenport Central couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost to Muscatine by a decisive 6-23 margin.
Meanwhile, North Scott had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 7-28 punch to the gut against Iowa City West last Friday.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better score. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous game, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
