Basketball Recap: Socorro Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Socorro hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They managed a 33-27 win over the Hatch Valley Bears on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Socorro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jazmine Alvarado, who posted 15 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. The matchup was Alvarado's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Ariana Crespin was another key player, putting up seven points along with 14 rebounds and seven steals.

Socorro's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-17. As for Hatch Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 15 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-19 record this season.

Socorro has already played their next game (against Cobre), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hatch Valley has also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against Hot Springs.
