Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Baldwin's 14th in Last 17 Outings

Baldwin proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 28) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Westside Patriots, sneaking past 65-62. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Braves have posted since January 24th.

Baldwin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Karez Demory led the charge by en route to 24 points. What's more, Demory also posted a 75% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jared Mundie, who on his way to 11 points and five assists.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dontrell Jackson, who posted 29 points along with eight boards and five assists. Jackson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Aldrion Jones was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds.

Baldwin is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. Westside's loss dropped their record down to 16-10.

Baldwin has already played their next game, a 57-37 victory against Cross Creek on the 14th. As for Westside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-49 win against Harlem on the 14th.
