Newton came into Friday's match having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pollok Central Bulldogs on Friday, sneaking past 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in March, they had to take a 9-2 defeat.

Newton's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chett Barrow, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Newton's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 3-13. As for Pollok Central, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-13-1.
