Sequoyah had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over the McMinn Central Chargers. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Chiefs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

The team relied heavily on Bella Hall, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Coming up, Sequoyah will head out to challenge McMinn County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for McMinn Central, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Loudon at 6:00 p.m.
