Soccer Game Preview: Rancho San Juan vs. Pajaro Valley

The Rancho San Juan Trailblazers will take on the Pajaro Valley Grizzlies at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Rancho San Juan's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Pajaro Valley has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Rancho San Juan's offense. They came up short against Everett Alvarez back in December of 2024, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Trailblazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 740th, while the Eagles are ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous five contests, Pajaro Valley brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They never let Ceiba College Preparatory Academy onto the board and left with a 5-0 win on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Grizzlies as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Pajaro Valley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5-2. As for Rancho San Juan, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Rancho San Juan came up short against Pajaro Valley in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Rancho San Juan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
