Baseball Recap: Monroe Township Takes a Loss

Monroe Township couldn't beat St. Joseph on Saturday even though they stacked six runs on them in the sixth inning. Monroe Township lost 20-9 to St. Joseph. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against St. Joseph this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 on Thursday.

Justin Mangano made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Sean McManus also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Monroe Township has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for St. Joseph, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Monroe Township will face off against rival East Brunswick at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, St. Joseph is set to square off against their familiar foe Edison at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
