Basketball Recap: Lake Minneola Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hope Academy last Friday, Lake Minneola came back down to earth. The Lake Minneola Hawks fell just short of the Legacy Charter Eagles by a score of 45-42 on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Legacy Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Khori Polarchy, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrison Cooper, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

Lake Minneola's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Legacy Charter, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Lake Minneola Hawks take on the South Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Legacy Charter, they will host Forest Lake Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Legacy Charter is facing Forest Lake Academy at the right time seeing as Forest Lake Academy is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
