Basketball Recap: Irvine Skates Past Saddleback with Ease + How To Watch

Irvine extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 6-3. They blew past the Saddleback Roadrunners 73-38. That 35 point margin sets a new team best for the Vaqueros this season.

Chase Brito was his usual excellent self, shooting 45% from the field to rack up 15 points and seven boards. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Cyrus Totol also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Irvine was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Saddleback only posted six.

As for Saddleback, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since January 6th.

Despite the loss, Saddleback still got an impressive performance from Christopher Trotter, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andru Chhun, who had four points.

Looking ahead, Irvine will welcome Aliso Niguel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vaqueros will need to watch out since the Wolverines have now posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Saddleback, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-41 win against Santa Ana Valley on the 8th.
