Jefferson waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They strolled past the Highlands Owls with points to spare, taking the game 61-43. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Owls back in December of 2024, they had to take a 45-35 loss.

Jefferson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adrien Reyna, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Pj Prather was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points along with five assists and four steals.

Jefferson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for Highlands, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson will square off against Burbank at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burbank knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Jefferson likes a good challenge. As for Highlands, they will take on Seguin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
