Baseball Recap: Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy won against Destin last Thursday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Lighthouse Private Christian Academy's pitchers stepped up to hand the Aletheia Christian Academy Lions a 5-0 shutout. The Stingrays have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

B Nelson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Nelson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ezekiel Rycroft, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Aiden Jimenez was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aletheia Christian Academy struck out eight times.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. Aletheia Christian Academy's loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lighthouse Private Christian Academy will take on West Florida Baptist Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aletheia Christian Academy, they will face off against Central Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Aletheia Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
