Baseball Recap: Jersey Village Has No Trouble Against Cypress Ridge

Jersey Village had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Cypress Ridge on Tuesday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 13-4 victory. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Nathan Ultis made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Ultis was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Ryan Ambrus was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Roy King was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

Jersey Village always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in five consecutive contests.

Jersey Village's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Cypress Ridge, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Jersey Village will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rams: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
