Bellevue West has gone 9-1 against Omaha North recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bellevue West Thunderbirds will head out to challenge the Omaha North Vikings at 5:30 p.m. Bellevue West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.
Bellevue West is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Millard North just ended the team's three-game winning streak last Monday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to the Mustangs.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Stevie Harley, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Da?Nyla Tatum, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 13 points.
Even though they lost, Bellevue West was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millard North only racked up six assists.
Meanwhile, Omaha North was not able to break out of their rough patch last Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elkhorn South.
Like Bellevue West, Omaha North lost despite seeing results from several players. Alaeya Randle led the charge by putting up 14 points in addition to eight boards and six steals. With that strong performance, Randle is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayanna Hill, who posted 14 points along with five boards and three steals.
Omaha North's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Bellevue West, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Bellevue West has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Omaha North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 39.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
