Softball Recap: Wink Takes a Loss

Wink was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hermleigh Cardinals.

Brelynn Bowden was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Wink's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Hermleigh, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Westbrook will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Hermleigh, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ira at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hermleigh is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14.1 runs per game this season.
