Baseball Game Preview: Long Beach Bearcats vs. Picayune Maroon Tide

For the second straight game, Long Beach will face off against Picayune. The Bearcats will head out to take on the Maroon Tide at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Long Beach's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Picayune with a sharp 7-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bearcats.

Not much got past Will Brady, who gave up just four hits to keep Picayune off the board. Brady also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Long Beach is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-12 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Wayne Ulrich, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Dax Arkin, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Picayune has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-7 record this season. As for Long Beach, their win bumped their record up to 15-12.
