Basketball Recap: Weleetka Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Weleetka and Allen squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Weleetka had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Allen Mustangs and fell 91-33. The Outlaws were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-20.

Addison Prentice was her usual excellent self, going 13-for-18 to rack up 31 points and three steals for Allen. The dominant performance gave Prentice a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dextry Bowerman, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 boards.

Weleetka's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Allen, their win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-4.

Weleetka does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Allen, they will square off against Wellston at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Allen knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Wellston likes a good challenge.
