After both having extra time off, the Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Hawks and the Classical Prep Lions will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Families Instructing Students HomeSchool is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest two weeks ago with ease, bagging a 48-15 win over Out-of-Door Academy. Winning may never get old, but the Hawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Families Instructing Students HomeSchool got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Julianna Lamon out in front who went 7 for 15 on her way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Lamon a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Melody Lee, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.
Families Instructing Students HomeSchool smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Classical Prep over Freedom in every quarter on their way to victory two weeks ago. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Classical Prep blew Freedom out of the water with a 54-22 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Lions had established a 20 point advantage.
Families Instructing Students HomeSchool better focus on containing Kaelyn Malloy and Mia Milanes as the pair were huge in Classical Prep's win. Malloy dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds, while Milanes dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, Malloy is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game.
Families Instructing Students HomeSchool has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.2 points per game. As for Classical Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Families Instructing Students HomeSchool has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Classical Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Families Instructing Students HomeSchool didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Classical Prep in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 37-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
