Softball Recap: Middletown Comes Up Short

Lancaster Catholic hit Middletown with a six-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Raiders lost 9-3 to the Crusaders. The Blue Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Meghan O'Brien made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Fitzpatrick, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Middletown's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Lancaster Catholic, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Coming up, Middletown will head out to face off against Oley Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Lancaster Catholic, they will take on Twin Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
