Football Recap: Franklin Heights Starts Season with Win at Home

Franklin Heights took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. Everything went their way against the West Cowboys as they made off with a 26-6 victory.

Leading Franklin Heights to victory were Dae'Shaun Cowan and Alarice Gilcrease. Cowan rushed for 130 yards and a pair of TDs, while Gilcrease picked up 88 receiving yards and one score. Those 130 rushing yards gave Cowan a new career-high.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Franklin Heights' defense and their four sacks. In that department, Anthony Jalloh was the leader with three.

Coming up, Franklin Heights will venture away from home to square off against Central Crossing at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Linden-McKinley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
