Basketball Recap: Andrews Osborne Academy Comes Up Short

Andrews Osborne Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Cornerstone Christian Patriots, falling 55-24. The Phoenix were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Andrews Osborne Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alejandra Gil, who posted ten points and five steals. That was a full 41.7% of Andrews Osborne Academy's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jamiyah Dye, who scored eight points and three steals.

Andrews Osborne Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Cornerstone Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4.

Andrews Osborne Academy will host Conneaut at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cornerstone Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-54 victory against Grand Valley on the 1st.
