Softball Recap: Gustine Comes Up Short

Gustine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Denair Coyotes, falling 11-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Reds of the 16-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Gustine's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Denair, their win bumped their record up to 5-3-1.

Looking ahead, Gustine will take on Delhi at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Delhi has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.29 runs per game on average), something Gustine will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Denair, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Le Grand on the 24th.
