Football Recap: Beckman Comes Up Short

Beckman lost against Saint Joseph back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Patriots were just a hair shy of victory and fell 14-13 to the Jesters. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Jesters are ranked eighth).

When it comes to explaining why Beckman lost, don't look at Marina Babayani. Despite the final result, she threw for 228 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of her passes, and also rushed for 55 yards.

The critical scores for Saint Joseph came from Jaclynn Brennan and Julia Scalas.

Beckman has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Saint Joseph, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Beckman didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 44-13 victory against Sunny Hills on the 3rd. As for Saint Joseph, they have also already played their next contest, a 32-6 win against Corona del Mar on the 4th.
