Two dominant backs in Vudrico Roberson and Josiah Lucas are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Haltom Buffalos are taking a road trip to square off against the South Grand Prairie Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Haltom is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Bowie just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 30-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Volunteers. The matchup marked the Buffalos' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Despite the defeat, Haltom had strong showings from Elijah Lewis, who gained 82 total yards and a touchdown, and Khristopher Parks, who rushed for 65 yards on only six carries.

Haltom better keep an eye on Daylon Brooks. He was instrumental in South Grand Prairie's win, rushing for 114 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 137 yards while completing 72.2% of his passes.
South Grand Prairie's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Haltom, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Haltom has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 277.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like South Grand Prairie struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 242.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Haltom came out on top in a nail-biter against South Grand Prairie in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 23-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buffalos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
